Our client, a growing IT consulting firm, is seeking an energetic, well rounded Program Manager who is capable of delivering cutting edge technology solutions while simultaneously developing new business and helping to build the firm into a world-class company. The current opportunity involves supporting the one of the most important missions for a branch of the armed forces. This is a highly dynamic client environment driven by the war effort and requires a “hands-on” management approach.

Specifically, this position includes the following duties:

Overall Responsibilities:
• Client Delivery for multiple client facing projects/programs
• Account Management for multiple client facing projects/programs
• Business Development achieving at least 1 Million dollars a year
• Company Development contributing to the development of the firm

Client Delivery Expectations:
• Successfully manage the delivery of at least three projects or two programs.
• Effectively manage a staff of 15 -- 30 employees.
• Develop, coordinate and oversee Project Plan for each project managed.
• Develop and manage project staffing plan and project budget for each project managed.

Account Management Expectations:
• Effectively manage a P/L in the range of 2 to 10 Million a year.
• Successfully develop and maintain relationships with senior and executive level clients.
• Develop a deep understanding of client business processes, challenges, environment and opportunities.
• Identify and capture internal business development opportunities of at least at least $500,000 dollars a year.
• Introduce, guide and consult on contracting issues to support future growth.

Business Development:
• Identify and capture new business development opportunities of at least at least 1 Million dollars a year.
• Serve as Lead Technical Manager on at least 3 new proposal efforts.
• Develop client relationships in at least 2 new areas or commands which have a qualified potential to lead to new business.

Company Development:
• Recruit and hire Consultant, Senior Consultant and Project Manager level employees.
• Mentor and Retain Consultant, Senior Consultant and Project Manager level employees.
• Participate in a company-wide effort which develops or enhances company operation, infrastructure, policy or growth.
• Provide sales support as needed

1) At least 12 years of progressive IT experience, including technical knowledge of:
• Portal Deployment
• Programming and Application Development
• Database Design and Administration
• Development Methodologies
• Successful candidate will have started career as a hands on technologist in the areas of programming, application development or infrastructure.

2) At least 7 years of experience as a Project/Program Manager overseeing large, complex, n-tier software development life cycle (SDLC) projects, including:
• Managing projects implemented with Microsoft technologies
• Business process analysis and re-engineering
• Consulting with clients to define needs or problems
• Analysis and requirements definition
• Analyzing findings to advise and recommend solutions
• Writing reports and deliverables for presentation to clients

3) Project Management level responsibilities, including:
• Ability to manage wide range of staff, including subcontractors and junior to senior level consultants
• Strong communication, presentation, and writing skills, including the ability to work closely with customers and conduct high level meetings with senior level clients
• Experience in adapting to and managing changing requirements

4) Proven record of success with business development in a consulting services environment, including:
• Developing and nurturing relationships with key client personnel
• Identifying, qualifying and closing new opportunities with existing accounts
• Maximizing customer satisfaction within established accounts
• Providing sales support, including client briefings, needs assessments, and proposal writing
• Composing white papers on IT strategy, process impact analysis and features/benefits of proposed solutions

In addition, the following characteristics are highly desirable:
• Extensive Microsoft Office SharePoint Services (MOSS) or SharePoint 2003 experience
• Big 5 Consulting experience
• Military Service or Military Consulting Experience
• PMP Certification
• Security Clearance or clearable to Secret level
