Life in Monterrey

Monterrey, Mexico is a vibrant and wealthy city offering residents a fine quality of life in a bustling and booming metropolis, at the feet of the breathtaking Sierra Madre mountains. Monterrey, the third largest city in Mexico, offers everything from highly accredited bilingual schools, family activities, world-class shopping, historical landmarks, exceptional restaurants and nightclubs to hiking and other outdoor activities in and around nearby canyons and lakes.

The climate of Monterrey is subtropical with warm to hot weather all year. The average summer temperature is 36°C / 97°F with a balmy winter temperature of 22°C / 72°F. Rainfall occurs in the warmer months but often only lasts for less than an hour, just enough to cool the hot days.

Monterrey stands as a city apart in Mexico. Its infrastructure allows for everything you would expect from a cosmopolitan city in the 21st century, while its relative proximity to the U.S. border means that recognized market brands are easily available. Most people speak English (even at the Starbucks) and in general people are very warm and welcoming.
