Expert Business Intelligence (BI) Architect

Summary
As the Expert Business Intelligence Architect, you'll work as a member of the Enterprise Business Intelligence (EBI) - Competency and Methodology team and be responsible for architecting and implementing the vision and strategy for the Teradata/Cognos environment. You'll ensure that the IT architectural principles for Data Warehousing best practices are met in areas such as availability, scalability, manageability, and security. You'll help design and implement the infrastructure required to support the Enterprise Warehouse development on Teradata. You'll be working with a team of architects and developers directly responsible for the Teradata Database Platform implementation. The EBI data platform architecture must be well communicated and constantly shared with the Enterprise Architecture team and across EBI into development and support groups. The EBI architecture strategies must line-up with overall IT architecture and strategies for the strategic vision for data warehousing - working with and aligning to other business IT groups. For example, you'll provide Data Warehouse design integration ideas and assistance for cross-functional and cross-regional business intelligence solutions. You'll be responsible for assessing business requests and requirements to ensure the most efficient and effective architectural solutions are designed and implemented. You'll be responsible for creating architectural drawings, documents and topologies and for collaborating with development, project, and business focused teams. You'll develop and steward governances for the database layer of the Data Warehouse. You'll work closely with other DW/BI architects on implementing the layers within the data architecture. In addition, you'll interact with all levels including the executive level.

Qualifications
Requirements for the position include:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
10 years' experience in Information Technology or a related field
2 years' additional professional experience accepted in lieu of a degree
8 years' experience working with various data platforms
5 years' experience working the Teradata database platform
5 years' hands-on data warehouse architecture, design and implementation experience; including multiple implementations
Experience with end-to-end architecture, including design and implementation of multiple large-scale, high-volume database implementations using Teradata
Hands-on experience using Cognos
Experience in federated data warehouse environments
Expert Teradata database knowledge and SQL skills required
Expert in governances and best practices for large scale enterprise data warehouses to ensure global concepts are used with special attention to high performing solutions that are repeatable, extensible, and supportable
Knowledge in multiple tools supporting those data warehouse components such as Informatica a plus
Experience in data modeling techniques, specifically in Teradata physical modeling
Ability to communicate technical information to and influence a wide and varied audience, from your team of experienced architects through executives
Ability to develop or improve strategic processes
Ability to consult, transfer knowledge and act as a resource for the resolution of unique opportunities
Ability to deal with changing priorities
Ability to partner with and influence key stakeholders and architects
Strong organizational skills (multi-tasking) and a self-motivator
SAP experience and BW knowledge a plus
Ability to pass a 7-year background investigation
