Job description
The Cognos BI plugin team is looking for a Software Engineer to contribute to Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) .Net C# plugin development. In addition, the candidate will be expected to contribute to development of a Lotus Symphony (Java Eclipse) plugin. These plugins connect to Cognos BI servers via web services to retrieve reports and data; they then render the reports using the native capabilities of the container application.

Main responsibilities include:
- Development of .Net C# Office plugin code
- Development of Java Eclipse Symphony plugin code
- Investigating and fixing bugs in these environments

The following qualifications are desirable:
- Strong C# .Net development skills (especially in the context of Office plugins)
- Strong Java development skills
- Solid understanding of web services, SOAP, REST and Atom/RSS
- Familiarity with OLAP or other multi-dimensional data sources
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently

Your competitive edge:
In addition to the above requirements, exceptional candidates will also possess:
- Experience with Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP) development, or OSGi bundle development
- Knowledge of SWT and JFace
