The Role
In this DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR ROLE, you will directly support application database development process within Information Services (IS) Department. You will assist with establishing database standards and procedures; develop or evaluate products to assist database management strategies. You will approve and guide data design efforts during application development.

• Must be available for very short notice overnight travel assignments, including internationally, that occur as often as 10 percent of time.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related field, {or 8 years of Database Administration, application design/development experience PLUS experience required below}.
• Two years database administration or application design/development experience.
• Two years database administration experience in Oracle Database.
• Analytical, design and problem solving skills as demonstrated by not less than two years of experience as a database administrator.

Other Requirements
• Ability to train others in database technology and practices as demonstrated by not less than two years of experience as a database administrator.
• Ability to explain database technical considerations in understandable way to non-technical audience as demonstrated by not less than two years of experience as a database administrator.
• Thorough understanding of database theory as demonstrated by not less than two years of experience in database theory.
• Understanding of commonly accepted database practices as demonstrated by not less than two years of experience with database practices.
• Must be able to operate personal computers, fixed function terminals, common keyboards, printers, and plotters.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
To be considered for this position the job seeker must meet all of the above requirements; the following qualifications are a plus:
• Experience in SAP Database Administration highly preferred.
• Experience in Microsoft SQL Server, Progress or DB2 preferred.
