Summary

Designs, develops, implements, and supports web applications that interface with core systems and databases. Works closely with the Web Manager to ensure website functionality meets the needs of the institution.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Design, build and maintain web applications and interfaces as determined by the evolving needs of the client.

Manage Internet and Intranet-facing SQL databases.

Maintain existing code and integrate new code into the web environment.

Participate in setting and implementing security policies.

Manage dynamic web content.

Research web tools and applications and make recommendations for the adoption and integration of new technologies.

Interface with outside entities providing web development services and assure deliverables meet client's technical requirements.

Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.




Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field required.

Three years of experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET, SQL and XML required.



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong knowledge of various web applications/technologies, including HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET and Flash.

Proficiency in Microsoft and/or Adobe web development software.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

Knowledge of Windows, IIS, and SQL web server setup, configuration, and management.

Ability to develop reports and present data effectively.

Ability to create SQL queries and reports.

Ability to take ownership of issues and see them through to resolution with minimal supervision.

Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations in the client community.

Ability to be a proactive, self starter with strong planning, organization, problems resolution, and customer service skills.

Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Ability to demonstrate flexibility and creative problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage back-ups and archives.

Ability to deliver complex technical material in a clear, concise and credible manner.

Ability to assist in development strategies for data access and reporting regarding site usage.

Ability to effectively train faculty and staff
