Responsibilities

•Design, develop, maintain and optimize infrastructure components and frameworks that meet architectural, design, and schedule requirements
•Investigate and make recommendations for third-party solutions to system-wide concerns
•Show, through documentation and example, how to utilize infrastructure solutions to common problems
•Socialize the target architecture and designs along with standards and policies
•Thoroughly test and coordinate with Dev and QA to ensure successful deployment of dependent features and code changes
Qualifications
All candidates should:

•Read, write, speak, and breathe Java. You've used the features in Java 5+, including generics, annotations, and java.util.concurrency
•Have several years experience building large-scale distributed applications
•Know what SOA is (and isn't), and have experience with CXF/XFire/Axis or equivalent
•Know the Spring framework in and out, and understand and have used AOP in non-trivial ways
•Have experience with Hibernate and be able to explain all the different ways it caches results
•Be familiar with Lucene or similar search platforms
•Know when, how, and why to use caching technologies like Ehcache, Memcached
•Be results-oriented, self-motivated, and a resourceful problem-solver
•Have strong architecture and design skills
•Believe that readable and maintainable code is a requirement, not an afterthought
•Feel the passion to deliver
Ideally, the candidate will:

•Have deployed an application on EC2 or other computing cloud
•Have experience finding and removing performance bottlenecks using profiling tools. Milliseconds matter to you
•Understand SQL schema and how to optimize it
•Know that Mule is not related to a donkey
•Have knowledge of one or more of these technologies: Hadoop, Lustre, Cassandra
•Worked at both top-tier software companies and startups
