Software Engineer II
Our client, an Austin, TX based company specializing in providing software and services that automate the back-office activities of utility companies of all sizes, is looking to hire an experienced Software Engineer II to join their team. We are looking for a highly motivated, goal-oriented individual who will be responsible for researching, designing and writing software to specifications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high degree of initiative and creativity, as well as a thorough knowledge of up-to-date development technologies.
Responsibilities:

• Enhance existing software by analyzing and identifying areas for optimization or refactoring
• Mentor junior developers in industry best practices, procedures and concepts
• Research, design and write software to specifications
• Generate technical documentation as well as unit and functional tests
• Assist with the maintenance of applications by monitoring and correcting software defects
• Investigate new technologies and techniques and researches ongoing industry developments
• Work effectively and professionally with other team members, staff and customers
• Share knowledge with others by documenting and contributing to knowledge base.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science
• 2+ years - C#, .NET 2.0, .NET 3.5
• 2+ years - SQL Server 2008
• Experience with ASP.NET, AJAX, WCF, LINQ, Ling-to-SQL, Entity and RIA Framework,
• Exposure to WPF, Silverlight, XAML, Blend
• Experience with design patterns, MVC, MVP, MVVM
• 2+ years TFS source control, Unit testing, code verification, documentation, automated build, continuous integration, metrics & code reviews
• Experience working in an Agile environment
• Creativity and flexibility
• Experience in the deregulated electricity or utility industry is a plus
