Position Description:
Provide remote technical support and periodic on-site support for non-Alcatel-Lucent products. This position requires a high degree of technical expertise in Service Provider/Telco data & voice network environment. Engineers will strive to exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities:•
Responsible for resolving incoming customer service calls for the product supported. Ensure that outages are restored and cases are brought to proper closure within customer agreed Service Levels.
• Receive, prioritize, and monitor escalated service requests and work the service requests until they are satisfactorily resolved.
• Visit customer sites as required to provide solutions to issues that can not be resolved remotely.
• Maintain the call-tracking database with required information as customer service requests are handled. Updates of the call-tracking database are to be completed before the end of the workday. Ensure all open tickets are up-to-date.
• Using available hardware, engage in problem recreation to confirm or nullify actual customer issues. Document the results of problem recreation in the call-tracking database or in an authored solution.•
• Facilitates Client meetings to review service requests and support performance.

Fill in as needed for other support engineers.• Train other engineers on supported products• Required to work a 7x24x365 schedule with rotating off-hour coverage. Some travel required: less than 5%.


Qualifications:
• Prior work experience with supported product in a Service Provider/Telco environment or with the Original Equipment Manufacturer
• Communication and network problem solving skills required.
• Ability to travel
• Possess professional, customer-oriented phone skillsĀ
