• Experience working with security event monitoring tools
• Experienced in Incident Response best practices, including: data collection, evidence handling, escalation management
• Understand hacking attack methodologies and be able to identify and stop attacks
• GIAC, CISSP and/or CISM certifications preferable
• Leads the improvement efforts to gather, analyze, and define security operations technology and information security requirements for SIEM and other operational security tools
• Analysis and documentation, including root cause analysis, of information security incidents as well as the analysis of the circumstances enabling or permitting these same incidents to take place
• Create reports on security threats, incidents, exceptions, blocks, filters and other indicators of system or network security
• Commitment to Professional Development and advancement
• Detailed knowledge of industry leading security applications, including SIEM (Security Incident and Event Management) tools
• Knowledge of multiple operating systems and applicable system administration skills (Windows, Solaris, Linux)
• Experience with network troubleshooting tools like network sniffers, TCPDUMP or IPTRACE utilities
• Experience with Database Software, SQL statements, Regular Expressions and Boolean Logic
• Excellent written and verbal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical audiences
• Understanding of Identity Management technologies such as Novell Sentinel
