REQUIRED SKILLS: • 8+ years experience developing software applications (school work not included) • 5+ years of experience in Unix or Linux • 5+ years of experience in Shell scripting • 5+ years of experience in Relational Database Modeling • 3+ experience Oracle Database Server • 3+ experience Oracle RAC • 3+ experience Oracle Streams • 3+ experience in Software Engineering environment • 2+ experience in an Iterative Development Environment (e.g. SCRUM, XP) • 3+ Linux/Solaris OS platform. Shell scripting. • 1+ Experience with JDBC. • Good communication skills • Comfortable with giving and receiving code reviews, including peer reviews and automated code reviews tools • Experience understanding of user requirements and using them to generate software designs.
PREFERRED SKILLS: • 1+ Experience with a Java Programming Language • 1+ Experience with a data access technology such as iBATIS, Hibernate, Spring DA0 or 2+ Experience with Spring development framework • 1+ Experience working with a source code control system - CVS, Subversion, or equivalent. • 1+ Experience with agile software development practices from methodologies such as Extreme Programming and/or Scrum, including frequent working software deliveries. • 1+ Experience working on mission critical, highly available, redundant applications
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, MIS, or a related field required. Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum seven years experience working in a multi-platform IT environment, including direct experience with one or more of the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Unix/Linux/AIX, or OS400 required
