Full-time (direct hire) position. Contractors will NOT be considered for this position.

Local (Tampa) area candidates are strongly preferred. There is no relocation assistance available.

Performs installations, configuration, monitoring, support, and maintenance of computer systems to include both Unix and Windows and Unix/Windows system administration tools. This position also provides production on-call support for mid-range computer systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Analyze system requirements based upon business goals and participate in the creation of recommendations.
· Diagnose server/system operational problems quickly and effectively, provide recommendations and solutions.
· Provide system administration support for Unix & MS Windows environments, including day to day operations, installation and configuration of hardware and software, performance management and problem resolution.
· Provide technical leadership to the system administration team.
· Research, identify, and prototype new or improved processes/procedures for performing support activities to include underlying tools and software products.
· Install, maintain and upgrade system software and associated layered products (MS Windows, Tru64 Unix, AIX, Solaris, Linux, SAN (HP / EMC), Legato, Brocade & Cisco SAN Switches).
· Design, implement, and maintain reliable and efficient backups/restores for all managed systems. Install, configure, and maintain virtual and automated tape library systems.
· Create user accounts, monitor disk space, monitor system and disk I/O performance, and create shell scripts to automate daily tasks.
· Implement, execute, and enforce Unix/Windows policies for all company users.
· Design and implement security on all managed systems to comply with the company security standards.
· Perform 7x24 on call support one week each month.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as technical project lead to review requirements, designs, and provide work estimates and work breakdown structures to project managers on assigned projects.
Coordinate project tasks and activities with other departments, groups or teams. Provide status reports to executive management as well as for project managers.
Lead production anomaly conference calls and problem solving sessions.

A Green Card or US Citizenship is required.

Skills & Experience required:

A 4 year BS or BA degree required in a computer related field or 6 years of directly related work experience in a large-scale IT environment
8+ years system administration experience
4 years AIX system administration experience (must have 5.3) with virtualization
2+ years of WebSphere experience.
2-3 years team lead experience leading teams of up to 4 people
2 years Linux system administration experience (RHEL 4.5)
1 year experience with HP EVA or EMC DMX-4 or Clarion storage arrays
2 years experience in an environment spanning multiple locations and in excess of 200 servers.

Experience Desired:
Solaris experience (Solaris 9 - does not have to be recent) highly desired.
MS Windows Administration and/or Active Directory knowledge highly desired.
Brocade or Cisco SAN switch configuration and management.
Knowledge of Legato backup system configuration and management.
Experience with virtual tape library systems.
Experience with EMC Powerpath.
Experience IBM blade technology.
Tru64 Experience (does not have to be recent).
