SAN Storage Engineer
3 months contract to hire

Job Description:
Provide Enterprise level EMC SAN Storage administration to include Data storage planning, provisioning, deployment and support of SAN storage and SAN fabric.

• Provides zoning, masking and mapping of storage in an enterprise storage environment.
• Participate in datacenter migrations with all aspects of storage migrations.
• Participate in capacity planning and performance analysis
• Strong working knowledge of SAN Fabric Management and SAN Disk Management.
• Ability to actively participate in detailed discussions with the appropriate contacts to develop solutions for our customers needs;
• Ability to produce documentation of a very high standard;
• High level of analytical, diagnostic, and problem solving skills; Good self-management, risk management, and decision making skills;
• Utilizes tools creatively to diagnose and resolve unusual/undefined problems; have in-depth knowledge of SAN Storage and SAN Fabric architecture and its components;; performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: Ability & Experience in?
1. Troubleshooting/Diagnostics: Research/analyzes all sources of information to determine the cause of a problem or error and developing a method of correcting it.
2. Knowledge of Infrastructure/Connectivity: Expertise with Network connectivity & infrastructure related to supporting SAN connected servers/clients.
3. Code and Firmware Installation & Maintenance: Plan and execute hardware/software changes with minimal disruption in service to client on all systems pertaining to SAN connected devices.
4. Design, Implementation & Maintenance: Knowledge/skill/ability required designing, implementing, and maintaining all connectivity for SAN environments.
5. Client Focus/Client Value Management: Analytical; generating and evaluating alternatives; developing and implementing effective solutions.
6. Project Management: Responsibility for developing, coordinating, and controlling the steps necessary to carry out a project within established time frames.
7. Documentation: Preparation/update of written material/explanations to accompany all systems, programs, and changes.

Education:
Bachelor's degree (BA) or equivalent experience

Experience:
• Experience in EMC Storage Arrays; CLARiiON, Centera, Celerra, and Symmetrix.
• Familiar with McDATA and Cisco Fiber Fabrics, both design and management.
• 3-5+ Years of IT experience in the implementation and support of EMC SAN environments
• AIX, Solaris, Linux, Windows 2000 server, and Windows 2003 server
• VMWare (or other virtualization systems) experience a plus
