POSITION SUMMARY

The candidate will be responsible for producing business requirements documentation that aids in the development, use, and support of software systems. They will also research, plan, write and illustrate documentation that explains process flow, system design, and software features from a technical perspective. The audience for this documentation will vary between business stakeholders, partners, and developers / architects.

You will be part of a team of experts that is responsible for ensuring all aspects of analysis and documentation are met by:

• Work closely with the business and development teams to plan, gather, analyze, and document requirements
• Act as a bridge between the stakeholders and the solutions team
• Define functional and non-functional business requirements with business stakeholders and ensure solutions meet these requirements
• Analyze and document enhancement requests from clients, partners, and the technical team
• Research and develop better ways to produce and organize business requirements documentation
• Identify technology implications for business needs
ESSENTIAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
• Post secondary degree in related discipline, or equivalent work experience
• Relevant experience in a software company, as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or related role
• Experience utilizing various types of IT project methodologies and life cycles, including Agile.
• Experience in development of web-based or client-server applications
• Knowledge of Internet technologies and Microsoft Windows platforms
• Good understanding of relational databases (MS SQL Server) and the .NET platform
• Experience in constructing logical and conceptual data models and use cases
• Knowledge and experience with UML modelling techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required; ability to communicate technical or complex ideas in a straightforward manner
• Self-starter who takes initiative, requires minimal supervision, can handle multiple tasks at the same time
• Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and complete deliverables within specified time frames
• Effective team player with the ability to work independently
• An appreciation of end-user needs and requirements with ability to see the big picture
• Proven diagnostic, analytical, and problem solving skills
