Manager, Web Development Engineer

Manager, Web Development Engineer will lead a growing team of Front End Web Developers and is responsible for front end development of BestBuy.com and various enterprise web initiatives. This position evolves direct client consultation and relationship management; guiding projects at all stages from discovery to implementation. Position includes project management activities including resource allocation, budget ownership, estimating and final quality assurance. This role is responsible for setting and upholding current web and BestBuy.com standards and practices, as well as teaching those concepts out to his/her direct reports and the greater enterprise. This person must be driven to understand trends and rapid changes in the industry, adapting those ideas and concepts to help shape Best Buy's web strategy.

BASIC QUALS:
• Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of experience in Web Site Development / Management.
• 5 or more years of Front End Web Development experience
• 2 or more years of experience Managing a Web Development team
• Expert knowledge of hand-coded HTML (XHTML and DHTML inclusive), JSP, CSS and JavaScript based on web standards and best practices for code optimization, accessibility (Section 508, WAI) and SEO.
• Ability to quickly troubleshoot HTML / CSS / ASP / JSP / PHP / JavaScript / Web Browser / Network Issues / DNS / etc. related problems.

PREFERRED QUALS:
• Experience in a large complex or Multisite Web Environment
• Understanding of design patterns, usability principals and best practices
