User Interface and Graphics Designer

Purpose
Flextronics is seeking user interface and graphics designers to help visualize an innovative new computing platform. As a visionary designer you will have proven consumer design experience for desktops (OS and/or applications), and/or mobile applications (iPhone, Blackberry, Palm, Google). You will be a part of a multi-disciplinary team collaborating with other, Visual Designers, Interaction Designers, Developers and Product Management.

As a member of the UX team, you are expected to demonstrate excellence in leadership, communication, collaboration, and champion the user experience. The team is focused on determining the future direction of the next generation of a new computing platform - under tight timelines.

A number of positions are available for world-class user interface designers - the successful candidate will be a specialist in one of the following areas.
• Graphics design.
• Visual interface design.
• User interaction design.

Principal Responsibilities
Each position has specific responsibilities in their own subfield of user interface design that are further detailed on the Flextronics web site
• Create production quality user interface and graphical designs
• Create and manage a library of concepts that will be utilized by the product
• Create simulations or prototype complex interactions with prototyping tools (Flash, HTML)
• Create or model intricate motion gestures using natural physics in a prototyping tool
• Work with developers to assess the feasibility of implementing solutions
• Produce all creative assets/artwork required for implementation

Required Qualifications
• Relevant degree in related studies is required with a portfolio / reel demonstrating visual design work.
• 5 years experience creating compelling unique experiences
• Master of visual design with the ability to establish a cohesive visual language / system that achieves the user experience goals
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, from one on one meetings, to group design sessions
• Highly professional, with the ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules
• Comfortable working in a loosely structured organization
• Fluency with Photoshop, Illustrator, MS Visio, 3D software (modeling & rendering), Motion tools (or other compositing tools) and other design tools
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and work with little direction

Desired
• Experience designing for Mobile Computers
• Experience simulating complex workflows, core UI interactions, and applications
• 3D Modeling and Design skills for product design
• Video Editing & Compositing
