PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
CLIENT Internal Training Group is hiring Instructional Designers to create learning to impact sales productivity. Successful candidates will work extensively with internal Sales, Operations and Executive stakeholders to conduct Sales needs analysis, validate messaging/ learning priorities and design deliverables which include both technical and sales messaging. This person will work within virtual teams as required to design learning solutions and develop/recommend appropriate programs to drive sales productivity. Throughout the development cycle, the instructional designer will collaborate with subject matter experts, web developers, internal CLIENT VU team members as well as training vendors and/ or consultants to create dynamic learning solutions. The instructional designer will collaborate with regions, LOBs and consultant/vendors to implement programs across the global sales force and monitor program metrics. The candidate will be expected to present and articulate how skill development will influence behaviors to enable sales productivity, increase profitability and customer satisfaction.

The Instructional Designer will interface with a wide variety of sales and engineering roles. The ability to understand key sales & engineer processes will be critical to the instructional designer's success.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Skills:
Candidates must demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal), be able to work both independently and as part of teams, and have the ability to work at all levels of the organization as required.

Productivity Tools: MicroSoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Visio, Internet Explorer, web-based collaborative file storage (including SharePoint, Wiki) and other CLIENT employee tools as appropriate.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Create learning for classroom, virtual classroom, and a variety of e-learning formats
Develop a basic understanding of the subject matter through collaboration with team members or materials provided.
Gather content from Subject Matter Experts using interview protocol.
Develop module content, materials and media based on detailed design specifications, using prescribed templates.
Develop and edit content to support the overall learning goals and objectives.
Review deliverables for completeness, compliance with standards, and consistency with the detailed design prior to sending to supervisor for review.
Collaborate with peers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) via professional communication channels to build relationships
Review and revise content based on feedback from internal and client reviewers or stakeholders, raise content discrepancy issues to supervisor as needed
Support the training solutions development process
Use development tools according to defined standards
Work with Rich Media Designers to create story boards.
Assist with/ participate in course test activities such as cycle testing using test scripts or instructions; properly document problems for issue resolution
Collaborate with peers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) via professional communication channels to build relationships
Complete project administration tasks
Report status and identify potential risks early
Ability to learn use of new simulation and flash creation tools
Ability to understand and support cutting edge assessment strategies.
WORK EXPERIENCE
The ideal candidate has 5+ years experience in Instructional Design and development, preferably with developing training for sales and technical audiences. Experience working within sales organizations is key as well as working in a global environment. Candidates must have a deep and proven understanding of learning & development processes and the ability to manage large, complex projects.
