The Cognos Administrator is responsible for administration of the installations of Cognos enterprise reporting software tools. They work closely with functional and technical teams to implement and maintain optimal reporting environment and consult with IT departments and business areas on matters relating to system connections, security, user accounts, and creation of data models. They also monitor and maintain system performance and provide statistical reporting, assist user community with publishing of reports, PowerPlay cubes, and dashboards and work with Cognos Alliance Support to address problems and resolve problem cases. The Cognos Administrator also provides consultation and support to regional campuses, as necessary, with regards to their Cognos installations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
• Bachelor's degree.
• Three years Information Technology experience in the area of business intelligence, administration and support.
• Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience.
• One year experience with administration of enterprise business intelligence tools.
• Experience working with vendor customer support on issue resolution.
• Experience with maintaining a production system and working with end-users of the system.
• Experience with upgrading software applications and the ability to coordinate implementations with end-users from various areas.
• Experience in OLAP server technology designing data models, metadata and cubes.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to design, build and test reports.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree in computer technology, computer science, computer graphics technology, or related fields.
• Experience with COGNOS a strong plus.
• Experience with Oracle database systems and enterprise web applications.
• Experience with data warehousing technologies.
• Ability to apply user security for the Business Intelligence application.
• Strong understanding of relational and star-schema database designs.
• Knowledge of project management principles.
• Basic knowledge of security technologies.
