Mid Level SQL Server Developer/DBA

Job Description

Responsible for designing, developing and supporting the all SQL Server databases and ensuring their performance, availability and security. Also responsible for building and maintaining the mission critical enterprise data warehouse and performing related database administration duties.


Primary Responsibilities

• Data Modeling, Create/refine database tables, queries, stored procedures in SQL Server 2005
• Provide technical expertise on Functional and Technical Design
• Working with .Net developers to optimize their queries and help them out with TSQL.
• Build ETL procedures to aggregate data from multiple databases.
• Build cubes and cube based reports.
• Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving - SQL development.
• Tune database performance, suggesting Indexes and optimization techniques
• Assist in Production Environment Support.
• DEV/QA Release support, working with the QA Team.
• Troubleshooting database failures; implement hot fixes as well as long-term solutions; handle database backups and recoveries; maintain overall data integrity.
• Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases.
• Responsible will include maintenance and troubleshooting of Database Cluster, Log Shipping, Replication and Data Mirroring on SQL 2005.
Basic Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience working on SQL Server
• Expert level TSQL experience on SQL Server 2005
• Experience ETL experience using SSIS
• Proficiency building reports using SSRS
• Expertise in large datasets, cube optimization and dimension-building
• Experience managing multiple MS SQL 2005 RDBMS on large systems.
• Practical experience SQL Server Database Administration
• Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects.
• Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to provide a high availability service.
• Practical experience in managing the internal and external MS SQL database security.
• Knowledge of .asp, C#, web services and .Net framework is a plus.
• Bachelors degree required.
