Responsibilities include:
- Acting as the User Evangelist, ensuring a global audience's needs are represented during product development.
- Elevating Interaction Design and user needs as an essential component of the SDLC, from initial explorations through final design deliverables such as use cases, task flows, user interface elements, and documenting detailed design specifications for development and QA.
- Creating detailed flows and prototypes for web, desktop and mobile applications based on product requirements.
- Developing detailed interaction designs of all pages including business rules and exception cases.
- Creating rapid prototypes that can be reviewed by cross functional teams.
- Utilizing rapid prototyping designs to accelerate the design process.
- Working with Product, Marketing, Engineer and QA organizations in a collaborative manner to refine design and resolve inconsistencies.
- Participating in product requirements reviews and be able to provide feedback based on interaction implementation prior to the implementation phase of the project.
- Being accountable and able to defend decisions made on the user interaction model and information architecture.
- Help defining design strategy, project approach and scoping.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a key member of a user experience team that successfully launched a commercially released product.
- Solid understanding of user interface design principles.
- Assertive and able to stand up to design decisions, bring new ideas to the table, and work collaboratively.
- Ability to develop innovative new approaches to complex design problems.
- Keen interest in new technologies and applications in a global arena.
- Fluency with Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash (ActionScript 2.0) or other design tools and HTML page creation tools.
- Ability to communicate design principles and build consensus,
- Excellent leadership, communication and teamwork skills.
Additional desirable skills:
- Experience with Consumer and Enterprise Software.
- Web development experience for application prototyping.
- Experience with Adobe Flex platform and designing for Flex applications.
- Project management experience.
- Experience with end user research,
- Solid Visual Design sense.
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in HCI, product design, human factors or related field
