The Business Analyst PeopleSoft HCM works with customers in the business offices to develop functional specifications for complex application solutions, analyzes the impacts of vendor provided updates and upgrades to the PeopleSoft HCM System, and works with developers to ensure that technical development projects meet business requirements. The position also provides production support by analyzing, designing, and testing solutions to complex production problems and working with developers to resolve critical production issues as quickly as possible.


Requirements:

Collaboratively develop excellent solutions within PeopleSoft HCM 8.9 to support strategic and operational requirements.

Understand core business functions at a deep level. Work with stakeholders to select and configure systems. Engineer efficient business processes.

Create high and detail level documents and specifications.

Develop and manage project plans using industry-standard tools and approaches.

Work with stakeholders to develop analytic and operational reports.

Essential Functions:

Initiate, design, and manage complex projects using industry-standard processes

Ensure projects are delivered on time, to requirements, and within resource constraints
Analyze existing and proposed system options. Work with stakeholders to resolve issues and propose solutions.

Manage end-to-end projects and tasks within projects. Use project management tools to provide predictable results and visibility to stakeholders.

Learn and understand existing business processes. Determine opportunities for operational improvement and support of strategic goals. Champion change according to company directives. Support quality improvement initiatives.

Interpret existing and new policy for use with systems.

Work with software developers to create high-quality specifications to meet needs of the stakeholders.

Diagnose and resolve system problems. Act as liaison between University departments and IT staff.

Document business requirements and system configuration approaches.

Use SQL queries and reporting tools to gather and understand information. Assist users in the development of reports.

Assist in development of QA tests and participate in QA / testing efforts for projects.
Train users in technical aspects of systems and business processes.

Participate in special projects and committees and perform other duties as assigned


Requirements:

Minimum 5 years business analysis experience in complex HCM environments. Substantial experience as a consultant or analyst working with PeopleSoft HRMS 8.x, including the core HR functionality (including Position Management), Base Benefits, Benefits Administration, Pension, Enterprise Learning and Absence Management, and experience with creating and maintaining interfaces to external systems and vendors, functional knowledge of PeopleSoft HCM. Including, benefits administration, e-benefits, e-recruit, e-performance, e-learning and pension administration. Experience with other relevant tools such as MS Excel, Word, Project, and Visio. Experience working in teams with other systems analysts, programmers, users, and managers. Business analysis and project management experience preferred.
Interact with all departments and stakeholders, including external partners and user communities. Maintain professional, service-oriented relationships.
Language skills: Ability to clearly communicate in person and over the phone and is able to request and exchange information in a pleasant, respectful, and professional manner.
Mathematical Skills: Requires strong math skills, including percentages, ratios, statistics, graphing and spreadsheet skills.
Reasoning Ability: Requires ability to define and prioritize problems and manage workload without direct supervision.
Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registration: BS, BA, or equivalent well-rounded education and experience. PMI certification preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities: Advanced self-management skills for coordinating numerous, simultaneous projects. Requires excellent communication and analytical skills. Responsible for accurate and reliable maintenance, documentation, and testing of internal systems. Participates in broad information systems assignments requiring originality and ingenuity. Excellent writing, word processing , spreadsheet data management, excellent interpersonal skills for working with internal and external customers.
