What can you expect in the Project Manager's position?

We've got grand plans and want you to be part of it. We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with extensive success in a software development environment. As a PM, you will be responsible for ensuring ecommerce software development projects (from 10 to100 person-months) are completed on time, scope, and budget with very high client satisfaction. You will do this through effective team leadership, client interaction, and general management skill, drawing on extensive experience in software development in a professional service or consultant environment. Above all, you are a leader with a “buck stops here” mentality in terms of the success of your projects, and handle change and problems effectively and creatively.
Once you join our team, you will be accountable for achieving realistic yet challenging goals:

1. Manage software development projects through a complete software development life cycle on time and on budget
2. Schedule and manage a diverse resource pool from Elastic Path, our clients, and/or outsourcers
3. Collaborate with the client and Business Analysts to define project scope, approach, resourcing, project plans, value proposition, and other assumptions
4. Negotiate with cross functional teams to ensure the accomplishment of work, within time, cost, performance/technology to meet and exceed customer expectations
5. Provide accurate and timely project reporting and status to client and Elastic Path stakeholders
6. Obtain customer approval on all key sign off milestones including scope and budget/schedule, change management, and project completion
7. Provide pre-project support to customers in developing their internal implementation team and educating them on the implementation process
8. Manage customer expectations and resolve any issues or concerns in conjunction with the relevant Principal
9. Provide project scopes/estimates of work for existing customers and help to negotiate contract arrangements for Professional Services
10. Manage time submission from the project team and coordinate with our accounting department on monthly invoicing

What kind of background is required to thrive in this position?

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, computer science or equivalent
• At least 5 to 7 years experience in managing large complex software development projects working with external clients in a consulting environment
• A strong leader, with excellent people-management skills and extreme dedication
• Strong technical aptitude, and ability to vet estimates
• Experienced with RUP and Agile methodologies
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• PMP Certification is considered an asset
