Role: Performance Engineer

The Performance Engineer will possess advanced knowledge of application performance and quality concepts. In addition, this individual will assist in the development of Performance Engineering (PE) processes. Furthermore, this person will develop and implement the testing approach/plan for critical and high priority projects. This person will also promote the PE processes to all facets of the EIT organization with which he/she interacts.





II. Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:



1.Participate in the development and implementation of PE processes.

2.Participate in tool evaluation, integration and evaluation.

3.Develop and implement PE testing approaches/plans for critical and large scale projects including but not limited to all aspects of the Discovery, Construction and Execution/Analysis phases.

4.Ensures PE processes are followed on all projects.

5.Utilized process automation where applicable.

6.Participates in process improvement initiatives.

7.Provide at least a single PE tool expertise and administration (as necessary).

8.Facilitate communication of PE process changes to appropriate groups.

9.Estimating PE effort at the project level.

10.Facilitating the completion of external audit requests.

11.Other duties and responsibilities as required.





III. Position Requirements:



Education or Equivalent: Minimum required to perform job.

?BS in Computer Science, Business or related job experience.

?Advanced level of certification in performance testing tool (e.g. HP CPC - Certified Product Consultant)



Experience or Equivalent: Minimum required to perform job.

?4+ years in software quality field.

o2+ years in PE discipline with all of the following LoadRunner protocols:

?Web HTTP/s

?SAP - Web

?SAP GUI

-OR-

o2+ years in end user application monitoring through BAC.

?3+ years experience with HP Quality Center or comparable tool.

?2+ years experience with functional automation tool (WinRunner, QuickTest Professional, Robot, RFT, SilkTest, QARun, etc.)

?Experience in at least two of the following LoadRunner protocols:

oWeb Click and Script

oWinSock

oDB

oVoiceXML

oRDP

oCitrix

oWeb Services

oGUI VUser (WinRunner or QTP)

Requirement Based Functional Testing

What is Function Test?

"The objective of function test is to measure the quality of the functional (business) components of the system". Tests verify that the system behaves correctly from the user / business perspective and functions according to the requirements, models, storyboards, or any other design paradigm used to specify the application. The function test must determine if each component or business event: performs in accordance to the specifications, responds correctly to all conditions that may be presented by incoming events / data, moves data correctly from one business event to the next (including data stores), and that business events are initiated in the order required to meet the business objectives of the system.
