DETAILED INFORMATION: Responsible for ensuring that all database management techniques are followed in a reliable, productive, efficient, and progressive manner.
Participate in the design, installation and enhancement of database systems.
Provide primary database support including monitoring the day to day operations, startup, shutdown, backup and recovery.
Maintain database security and integrity controls.
Maintain database tuning, reorganization and expansion.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs database modifications as required to support system enhancements, implementations, maintenance, and data recovery.
• Analyze system environment as it relates to database performance, UNIX environment settings, and hardware configurations.
• Monitors database integrity in a proactive manner with respect to hardware corruption, software malfunctions, and user error.
• Provides support to other data centers.
• Support the development staff in the areas of database design as it relates to reliability, resource utilization, and practical operations.
• Maintains library of technical database manuals, database procedures, and system work flows to support the current database environment.
• Provide backup support for AIX and Linux administrator.
• Assumes other duties and tasks as assigned by the Manager.
• Ensures that all databases are installed and configured to standards.
• Documents and maintain database linkages, user and schema setups, and database configurations.
• Support ERP applications. Lawson and Red Prairie.

EXPERIENCE:
• Three to five years working experience as an Oracle Database Administrator running on Unix. Individual should have working knowledge of Oracle 10g or higher.
• Individual must possess a high technical aptitude in database management.
• Experience with ERP applications. Especially Lawson and Red Prairie.
• Should have experience with both AIX and Linux.
• Prefer a 4 year degree and related certifications.
• The ability to communicate with all levels of personnel is essential.
• Technical writing skills are required for database management documentation and procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a smaller yet constantly changing, fast paced team environment with numerous deadlines.
