We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with a medical background, good digital design and ASIC experience. This position is located in Melbourne, Florida. Local candidates will be given first consideration.

Requirements:

manual layout skills

Interpretation of IC data sheets "fine print" and relating that information to the measurement requirements and product performance specifications.

Internet and PC skills that allow component searching (new and obsolete replacement) of vendor web sites.

Specification writing for test procedures that allow comprehensive analysis of component performance by the embedded code prior to shipping the product.

ASIC

BSEE or equivalent experience

Responsibilities:

System Design: Evaluate ideas for new products and suggest system concepts to management for the implementation in the products.

Circuit Design: Implement the the electronic circuit in hardware, ensure design is EMC compliant and the product will conform to required saftey regulations.

Documentation: Create and release design documentation (schematics, artwork, parts lists assembly drawings, ect..) Write a description and theory of operation for the circuit design, explain how the design works and how to test it.

Design Reviews: Call and participate in PCB and system design reviews.

Test Software: Subassembly Level and System Level.

Technician Training: Review the test specifications with the technicians and walk thru the first article test to provide information and support as needed.

Production Support: Work with the design transfer team during the product release phase.
