PatientKeeper, a leading firm in the growing healthcare technology industry, is seeking several outstanding software QA engineers to join its product development team. We build Java-based applications that physicians use on web browsers and handheld devices.

Prior experience in healthcare technology is desirable but not required.

Required Skills
Required Skills: (must have all or most of these)
* Significant experience with software testing and delivery in web/Java/J2EE environments
* Proven ability to create thorough test plans tied to business and technical requirements
* Sound understanding of all aspects of software testing
* Proven ability to drill down to investigate failures and diagnose causes
* Experience with relational databases
* Familiarity with Web Services, SOA

Desirable Skills:
* Experience with automated testing frameworks and techniques
* Significant experience with software testing for handheld units (smartphones/PDAs)
* Experience in healthcare technologies (e.g., Meditech, Cerner, EPIC, HL7, clinical data)



Required Experience

Core Competencies:
* Bachelors degree in related field
* 5+ years of software QA in a Java/J2EE environment
* Significant experience in development/testing of complex, high-performance enterprise software, using n-tier architectures, preferably in a software product company
* Working knowledge of Agile software development techniques
* Sound understanding of software product QA
* Strong analytical skills, ability to learn quickly
* Ability to work fast, and produce quality work in deadline-driven situations
* Excellent teamwork, good communication skills

What is Function Test?

"The objective of function test is to measure the quality of the functional (business) components of the system". Tests verify that the system behaves correctly from the user / business perspective and functions according to the requirements, models, storyboards, or any other design paradigm used to specify the application. The function test must determine if each component or business event: performs in accordance to the specifications, responds correctly to all conditions that may be presented by incoming events / data, moves data correctly from one business event to the next (including data stores), and that business events are initiated in the order required to meet the business objectives of the system.
