The position requires the following: Must-have:
- 100% comfortable on Windows (2K, 2K3, 2K8, Active Directory, user rights assignments, ISA, IIS)
- Highly proficient at Linux (Radius, IPTables, Apache)
- Very strong scripting skills (CMD/BASH/PERL/PHP)
Candidates lacking any of the above will not be considered.
As part of the job, the candidate must be comfortable with the following technologies in varying degrees of proficiency:
- SNMP for monitoring (Nagios-based)
- Basic understanding of other languages, like WMI, Power Shell, ASP, .Net, JavaScript, VBS, Python, Ruby, etc
- Linux (Debian preferred) knowledge: HA, Postfix, load balancing, syslog
- MS SQL (2000, 2005, 2008, Clustering)
- Virtualization technologies (VMWare, MS Virtual Server)
- Storage technologies (SAN, NAS, DAS, iSCSI)
- Backup planning and streamlining (CA Brightstor)
- Capable of writing legible 'build documentation' and policies.
- Must have patience enough to transfer knowledge and to mentor junior members
We are not looking for a programmer. We are looking for a senior level system/network
engineer for a data center environment where custom code (ASP, C++, C#) is used. This
means that the candidate must be able to apply scripting skills to manage the
environment and use their basic understanding of any other languages to assist in
troubleshooting recurring issues.
The candidate must be willing to be on-call for 1 week every 6-8 weeks, must be able to
take ownership of assignments from a-z and should require little supervision.

Candidate must be able to come up with ideas to put new and existing technologies to
good/better use and understand system and network security basics.
