IT Progammer/SQL DBA- Manufacturing Industry
HLP Solutions has partnered with this leading Gobal Manufacture to find a Sr IT Programmer/SQL DBA. This client uses a software package in .Net, Java, SQL, UNIX, and QAD.

SUMMARY:

Under minimal direction, perform as a technical expert in the design, coding, testing, and debugging of new software or complex enhancements to existing software. Participate in the development of software documentation. Assist in the training of less experienced software development staff and may act as a team leader on less complex projects. A Bachelor degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field and seven years of relevant work experience are required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Designs, codes, tests and documents application programs and database routines that conform to standards and policies of the department.

•Perform Microsoft SQL DBA functions to include: creating and maintaining SQL Databases, tables, indexes, stored procedures, replication, documentation and security; troubleshoots SQL system backup, restores; performs SQL Server and Web Server ground up rebuilds and restorations.

•Interface with business unit leaders to understand the business requirements and the effects new or modified applications will have on the organization's ability to meet these requirements.

•Travel - Domestic and International as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This person will have no direct supervisory responsibilities. They must collaborate with all departments in a joint effort to maintain, develop and improve applications to meet business needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

-Expert knowledge in Microsoft Visual Basic 6, IIS, ASP, ASP.Net, Javascript, VB.Net, AJAX, Crystal Reports and XML.

-In-depth knowledge of MS SQL 2000 and 2005 to include database and table creation, replication, database restoration and database backups

-Windows 2003 Server, Web Services -Strong business process knowledge in distribution and manufacturing (preferred)

-Full participation in the development life cycle for analysis, design, development, documentation, and testing

-Experience developing enterprise solutions and frameworks

-Ability to lead code reviews and mentor development team personnel

-Ability to evaluate and assess design options

-Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred, not required

EDUCATION:

-Minimum 7 years software engineering experience

-Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Technology or related field

Prefer experience in:

QAD, Logility, UNIX and UNIX shell scripting
