We have an excellent opportunity for a Desktop Support Technician with Linux skills! This is a long-term contract with an enterprise level organization in Dallas, TX.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Supports and maintains development workstations for a team of software developers
- Troubleshoots and corrects configuration issues
- Sets up and manages workstation imaging and deployment
- Evaluates, recommends and assists with software and network requests, issues and problem solving.
- Assesses needs, communicates and maintains standards for desktop software and usage.
- Configures, installs, and maintains repairs and upgrades hardware, software and peripherals.
- Assists with multiple desktop deployment projects.
- Performs other duties and special projects as required or assigned by supervisor

REQUIRED:
- 2-4 years of experience as a Desktop Support professional
- 2-4 years of experience in a LINUX environment
- Strong understanding of Ubuntu and Fedora desktop environments is essential
- Knowledge of dev tools, IDE's and SCM tools
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Must have strong communication skills and the ability to gain and maintain rapport with employees.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Must be able to work additional hours as needed

EDUCATION:
4 year degree desired, but not required.
