Overall Function:

The Application Developer will develop, integrate and support a variety of custom and packaged enterprise applications. You will have the opportunity to work on both high traffic web sites and business-critical internal systems. You will be a member of the application development team and participate in feasibility discussions and project planning in order to determine the best technology and approach to a project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, integrate, update and support software
• Provide primary development support for Environmental Defense Fund's web sites
• Produce stable, optimized, well-commented code
• Analyze functional requirements and assist in selection of appropriate solutions for projects
• Meet project deadlines and schedules

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Must have strong web application development skills
• 5+ years as a ColdFusion Developer coding designing and optimizing high traffic, mission critical, applications
• HTML, XHTML, Javascript, CSS
• Web Services development using SOAP, JSON and other protocols
• Expertise in database design and development
• Knowledge of either ExtJS, Prototype, Spry or jQuery
• Ability to pick up new coding techniques as needed
• Experience using version control software such as Subversion
• Experience building and maintaining Web Content Management Systems a plus
• Familiarity with C#, .NET web development a plus
• Experience with PHP a plus
• Experience with Salesforce, HP Trim, Convio or Great Plains a plus
• Ability to work on projects as part of a team or independently. Must demonstrate self-motivation, initiative, and flexibility
