Web Content Specialist

Job Description
Responsible for editing, color correcting, clipping, masking, and resizing product images for use on website. Duties also include procuring, editing, encoding, and resizing product videos for use on the site.
Develop ideas to automate and streamline processes to gain work efficiencies
Will work closely with Content Specialists, Merchandising, and Vendor Specialists in identifying trends, best practices, and solutions as they relate to product images, video, and rich media content. Will work with 3rd party vendors to source rich media content and implement it on website.
Ensures that content is accurately conveyed through images, video, and rich media.
Responsible for quality control of product images, videos, and rich media. Consistently monitors live site for image and content quality control. Understands concepts of web usability and user interface.
Will update staff periodically on success and ideas for improving product images, videos and rich media. Success will be measured through analytics such as product interaction and adds to cart. Will also measure success by the number of alternate images, videos, and rich media components that are added to the site.

Key Responsibilities:
• Edits, color corrects, and resizes product images based on style guide and image standards.
• Edits, encodes, and resizes product videos for use on website.
• Identify trends, best practices and solutions for rich media product content.
• Proactively seeks alternate product images, videos and rich media from sources such as manufacturers and 3rd party vendors.
• Works closely with entire E-Commerce team, Merchandising and Marketing.
• Proactively identify areas for improvement on product detail pages.
• Continual quality assurance of images and content live on website and content received from vendors.
• Measure effectiveness of product images, video, and rich media through site analytics and reporting.

A qualified candidate would have:

• Four-year Degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia, or related work experience.
• Minimum 4 years experience in graphic design or multimedia preferably in the Internet or web design field.
• Internet industry experience and a thorough understanding of the relationship between content, user interface and technology.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong experience with Adobe Photoshop.
