Sr. Web Developer -- Front End
Chicago, IL

Under the direction of the Director Application Development, this position is responsible for the design and construction of front end web applications for the Playboy Online team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Lead and enforce standards for visual styles, templates and user interface elements for use in Playboy Online applications
2. Responsible for selection of and implementation of front end web frameworks
3. Design and construction of web user interfaces, visual elements and templates for use in Playboy Online applications
4. Web application design prototyping and storyboarding
5. Usability evaluation and end-user testing of interfaces
6. Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to understand their needs, design solutions and build appropriate applications
7. Key involvement in large-scale corporate initiatives including the design and implementation of video delivery and syndication, content management, affiliate management, image gallery, community systems and other applications as required by the business
8. Execute projects in compliance with application architecture, development, and deployment standards
9. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to eliminate defects and ensure cross-browser compatibility
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 5+ years web design experience, with prior hands-on work experience in applications development related to a company with a major web presence.
• Intensive implementation experience with the following technologies: HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX frameworks (Jquery, Prototype, Mootools, etc), PHP and/or JSP, Web Template Engines (Freemarker, Velocity, Smarty, etc), SSI, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
• Experience with one or more of the following types of systems: Website Publishing, Web Content Management, Content Personalization, Image Gallery Applications, Online Video, Community Tools, Affiliate Management or E-commerce
• Experience with any of the following a plus: LAMP, Oracle, J2EE, Adobe Flash and/or Flex, Source Code Management (SVN) and Agile Project Management Tools (Rally)
• Must be comfortable working in a Cross-platform environment (MAC, Windows, Linux)
• Experience in a structured, process-oriented web development environment is required. Experience with Agile (XP, Scrum) development methodologies a significant plus.
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills, as well as, highly self-motivated.
• Bachelor's degree in web, graphic or multimedia design (or equivalent work experience).
