Sr Build/Release Manager (2275)

6 Months Contract in Atlanta, GA 30346

Local candidates and permanent residents only eligible for this role

Rate :- $46/Hr On W2

Duties include :-

Work closely with project managers, developers and test engineers during product launch phase of the software development life cycle.
Successfully drive the launch process for new product releases ensuring on-time delivery.
Manage release schedules and coordinate day-to-day release activities for multiple applications in UNIX and Linux Test environments.
Coordinate with operations staff to create roll out and roll back plans for production releases.
Create, Maintain, and Enhance build automation shell, perl, ant, maven scripts.
Support applications during and after new product releases are installed.
Perform root cause analysis, practice risk mitigation, and moderate conversations between multiple stakeholders.
Participate in process improvement initiatives for the Release Management process.

Required Skills/Qualifications :-

BS in Computer Science or related field.
5+ years working in release/configuration management.
5+ years working in a Unix/Linux environment.
5+ years writing Unix shell scripts.
3+ years experience with a source code version control system such as Subversion or GIT.
Excellent problem solving skills.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Capacity for attending to detail.

Ideal candidates will have :-

Experience with build tools such as Hudson, Maven, ant, anthill pro.
Experience developing and maintaining Java applications.
Experience with Application Servers such as Resin, Apache, weblogic, Websphere.
Experience with Fuse Enterprise Service Bus.
Experience with defect tracking tools such as HP Quality Center, PVCS tracker, etc.
