BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF JOB FUNCTION:

Under supervision of the Vice President of Marketing to support the company's sales and product marketing process, this position is responsible for the overall project management of a team of technical, sales and operations professionals in the writing and submission of technical proposals in response to customer RFPs/RFIs and non-RFI/RFP proposals also. This position will work with the VP of Marketing to identify and communicate responsibilities for each proposal, write the complete proposal and manage the writing of all contributors to defined timelines. This person will organize and edit the proposal to result in a cogent, cohesive final document for submission. The role involves interviewing the implementation, production and engineering personnel and being able to interpret technical language and make it clear to a layperson language, and being able to organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology. This position will be responsible for managing internal resources in a fast-paced and distributed environment.

This individual will be responsible for understanding the technical aspects of the company's product, to become familiar with and be able to write about the technologies and production methods to support product marketing. When not working on technical proposals, this position will assist in writing and maintaining technical documentation, including technical white papers, product descriptions and other technical documentation (perhaps including IT policies and procedures) needed for both the marketing and technology teams to support the company's sales process. Responsible for developing, maintaining, and distributing all product marketing collateral and technical documentation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:
1. Bachelors degree in Business Computer Information Systems or other relevant discipline
2. Technical writing certification

EXPERIENCE:
1. At least 4-6 years of technical writing experience developing proposals in response to RFPs, RFI's with at least one year managing a team in proposal writing.
2. At least 2 years of technical experience working as a business systems analyst, project manager or other capacity (customer/technical support representative servicing client-server systems, database and application server technologies, data communications/networking) to gain working knowledge of enterprise software implementation, preferably in the area of workforce management
3. As least 4 years of experience in developing, writing product marketing collateral.
4. Knowledge of continuous improvement quality processes is a plus.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
1. Manage documentation projects from initial planning through writing and editing, reviewing and revising, indexing and creating graphics through final printing, production, delivery and training internal and external customers.
2. Manage technical manuals, product marketing collateral, and product documentation associated with software upgrades.
3. Deliver high quality, accurate and well-written documents.
4. Performs competitive market research (from a technical product marketing perspective).
5. Researches highly technical information and incorporate into documents.
6. Works closely with all levels of management and operations staff to plan and create documentation.
7. Manages projects by creating project plans and schedules; meeting assigned deadlines, tracking and reporting project status; identifying and working with management and project team members to remove roadblocks and escalate issues as needed.
8. Manages complex writing projects in which the scope and deliverables often change.
9. Develops and executes detailed project and document plans.
10. Client-centered individual able to produce high-quality, accurate and well-written deliverables on schedule.
11. Experienced in creating highly technical and task-oriented documentation.
12. Work with other writing teams within the company to ensure documentation consistency and quality both across the suite of applications as well as overall documentation standards.
13. Provide regular status and progress reports to management team.
14. Responsible for developing, maintaining, and distributing all technical documentation, marketing collateral for product line.
15. Develop and write operational guides, user manuals, PowerPoint presentations and FAQs for internal and external customers.
16. Provide technical writing/customer support advice to customer service, software development, system engineering, sales, and marketing department.
17. Develop documents for mission critical business applications using formal technical writing methodologies.
