Job Description:
The purpose of this wide reaching role focuses on the delivery of performing database design solutions and the development of associated components driven by project requirements.

This role will have the following accountabilities:


• Production DBA

• Logical to physical database design: Conversion of UML persistence requirements into a performing database design

• Component / Object development: Produce the physical DB design (tables, indexes, triggers, stored procedures etc)

• Shell scripting: Design and construct batch processes for housekeeping activities

• Database performance tuning: Tune the database throughout all project phases. Take on a key role in performance monitoring / testing

• Environment management: Create and manage all development, integration test and local system test database environments in support of projects

• Production database delivery: Design and deliver physical databases into the Peterborough environment and provide support through Gateway 1 - Gateway 2 phase

• Testing / Quality Assurance: Create unit test plans for all components (tables, triggers stored procedure views etc)

• Consultancy: Provide technical support and guidance to development projects

• Continuous improvement: Undertake a key role in refining and improving internal processes.

• Coaching and knowledge sharing: Assist with the development of the technical and design capability with the existing team structure.
