Follows Web Development coding, communication, documentation and source control standards
Writes test cases, unit tests
Performs exploratory testing
Creates HTML and CSS from designs supplied by the Web experience team
Uses SQL to automate transactions (inserts, updates, deletes) and write and optimize queries for various Web applications.
Has knowledge of Apache (how it works, configuration), mod_perl, HTTP, FTP, JavaScript, headers, cookies, and plug-ins.
Understands the advantages of object oriented development, and uses it as necessary.
Writes maintainable, optimized Perl that access files, uses Oracle, and creates HTML.
Uses libraries developed by Priority Health when applicable, recommends the installation of additional libraries from CPAN as needed, and creates new shared libraries when necessary.
Is comfortable working with the web-hosting environment (Linux); using UNIX commands to list, view, compress and edit files.


Additional Skills:
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of three years experience with web environment support and development, including CGI and N-tier support.
Some experience with content management, LDAP and 4GL environments preferred.
Must possess a strong understanding of software engineering principles including data normalization, structured programming, and software development life cycles.
Must possess an understanding of TCP/IP, HTML, CGI Applications and middle-tier based services, with some experience designing, developing and supporting applications in such an environment.
Ability to speak English well enough to be understood by clients, co-workers and the public.
