Seeking: Unix Systems Administrator

Four work locations available:
1. Honolulu, Hawaii
2. Springfield, VA
3. Tysons Corner, VA
4. Seattle/Tukwila, WA

A leading, well established web hosting firm is seeking a seasoned Unix Systems Administrator. The candidate must have strong communication/mentoring skills and be intricately familiar with the web hosting industry.

The Unix Systems Administrator will be involved in the architecture, implementation, and support of both shared and dedicated hosting services including web, email, DNS, monitoring, and others.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing services in the web hosting industry along with an understanding of the future technologies that will be required to remain competitive in the industry.

Requirements

•5+ years experience with Linux, Free BSD
•3+ years in large shared production environments
•Solid experience and strong ability to work with PC-based hardware
•Experience administering MySQL and MS SQL Databases
•Expertise with Apache setup and configuration with PHP, performance tuning and log file management
•Solid Perl or Bash shell scripting ability
•Experience with using virtualization in a production environment (Xen)
•Experience building highly available web hosting architectures including data replication and failover
•Direct experience with high volume email architectures including replication and disaster recovery
•Ability to travel as needed
