Job Title:	SOFTWARE DESIGNERS STORAGE SYSTEMS

2) These are software development positions and are not suitable for IT systems integrators or system administrators.

PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
The successful applicants will be responsible for the design & development of a new enterprise storage solution. The ideal candidates have a strong track record of successful software developments projects.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science
• 5+ years of software development experience
• Experience in enterprise grade applications and/or web applications in a UNIX/Linux environment including: TCP/IP networking, distributed architecture, multi process/thread programming and GUI interface development.
• Must have a strong technical background, a proven track record in software development and domain knowledge in one or more of these areas:
o Storage virtualization
o Device management
o Policy management

RESPONSIBILITIES
The following responsibilities exemplify the type and level of accountability held by this position:
• Participates in system design activities
• Writes system design specifications
• Completes detailed design and implementation
• Independently investigates and proposes solutions to fulfill requirements
• Designs, implements and tests solutions
• Establishes and follows software engineering and quality practices

CORE COMPETENCIES
• A minimum of 5 years of development experience
• Knowledge of storage virtualization technologies
• Experience in distributed architectures/systems
• Objected-oriented analysis and design
• J2EE development experience
• Experience in management applications
• Relational and Object Oriented Data Base Systems
• Linux (Unix) development environment experience
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment as part of a senior team
• Excellent problem solving and communication (written and verbal) skills
• Experience with VMWare virtualization platform would be an asset.
