Sr. Database Administrator who will maintain and administer the computerized databases, including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and protection. This individual will ensure accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools, such as base dictionaries. Additional responsibilities include establishing and maintaining security and integrity controls, formulating and monitoring policies, procedures and standards relating to database management, and proposing and implementing enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system.


Duties & Responsibilities
• Define, design, implement, monitor, upgrade, test, troubleshoot, repair and disaster recovery of DB systems, specifications and applications onsite and customer locations.
• Work with Software Engineering group on developing solutions in C#.Net
• Propose and implement database operations and support procedure automation.
• Define and maintain system standards, reliability and performance requirements for customer and internal production operations.
• Keep DB versions up-to-date and assist in certifying front end applications to these versions.
• Administer production DB systems and applications: Propose and implement DB enhancements; Monitor and tune database performance parameters; Determine space storage requirements for growing databases and proposed database schema changes; Apply security measures.
• Adhere to database standards, documentation and naming conventions to ensure consistency in database creation and processes.
• Document all database related processes.
• Develop queries and reports.
• Define DB system hardware and software specifications and configurations.
• Research, test and recommend for purchase database administration tools.
• Track vendor licensing agreements and identify opportunities of pricing discounts.
• Document, report and track problems to appropriate vendors or departments.
• Develop working relationships with developers, IT, technical support, system and network administrators, operators and customers.


Qualifications:
Experience: Requires a minimum of 8 years of Database experience and programming languages such as C# and .Net also required.
Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
Certifications: Oracle, SQL Server, MCSE, Unix, DEC, DB2, or Tivoli certification preferred.
Travel Requirements: 10 - 30%
