Our client, a publicly traded leader in Wireless Data Communication Solutions, has engaged us to assist them with their Software Development Manager position located in Calgary, AB.

Summary Description:
The Software Development Manager will lead the development team to deliver industry leading location, social networking applications and platform. Our client provides the industry-leading location based applications to wireless carriers.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and delivery of world-class applications and platform
- Build and develop a local and remote development team
- Work closely with peers responsible for sales, marketing, QA, operations and support
- Create and foster effective cross-functional relationships; encourages ongoing communication between software engineers, product designers and product managers.
Experience & Other Qualifications:
- Ability to build and lead a world class team of developers
- Experience leading both local and remote development teams
- Excellent technical knowledge in software development methodologies, design and implementation.
- Thorough understanding of entire development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance.
- 5+ years of relevant experience leading and managing a software development team
- 8+ years experience of progressive responsibility managing technical teams
- BS and/or MS in Software Engineering or Computer Science
- Preference will be given to candidates with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
