"Responsibilities : Promote technical excellence within own section and support groups through design/technical review participation, lessons learned awareness and application, and technical innovation/growth fostering. Establish and maintain relationships with required external and internal interfaces to ensure that customer requirements are understood and being achieved. Establish/modify/monitor overall engineering program requirements, timing, and resources of own section and support groups to meet/exceed business objectives and goals. Effectively communicate technical and financial aspects of section activities vertically and horizontally in the organization. Ensure positive actions are taken to encourage growth, technical development, and improved interpersonal skills. Implement initiatives to continuously improve the responsiveness of the section/organization to customer/business needs. Ensure compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science. At least 3 additional years of experience in a leadership role within an engineering environment. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: This position requires access to controlled technology. To abide by Export Compliance regulations candidates must have either US Citizenship or US Permanent Resident Alien Status. Desired 10 years of engineering experience, with growing responsibilities into a leadership role. Effective team building and problem solving abilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal, presentation, and leadership skills. Able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers. Extensive knowledge and experience with the certification of avionics. Experience working with the FAA and other Regulatory Agencies. Knowledgeable of the FAA certification process coupled with a strong engineering leadership background. Company DER (Designated Engineering Representative) designation.
