"The ideal candidate will be responsible for the day to day management of the engineering, as well as related frameworks. He or she will spend much of their time interacting with the engineering team, program managers, other engineering teams, and executives. We need someone who is comfortable working in a fast paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.The manager of this team will need to be able to understand and lead the team in the following areas:Keyboard architectureMaintain and enhance the overall keyboard architecture shared across all text input code to improve performance and correctness and accommodate all the world's script systems.Text widget architectureExpand and improve the text input classes in the iPhone SDK.Input interactionSupport all text-related interactions that work on new and existing text, including selection (the loupe/magnifier), autocorrection prompts, single-line and multi-line candidate display, and text-related animations.Keyboard/input mode design and implementationDesign interaction models for text input. Work closely with the Human Interface team.Language model developmentDevelop and test algorithms which perform morphological analysis to improve text input speed and accuracy.Dictionary content developmentWork with native speakers of various languages to test, review, and improve our dictionaries.- Bachelor's degree (CS preferred) and 3-5 years experience.
