Job Details
This TTO provides engineering support for the enhanced design, update, test, documentation, and installation of the Windshield in spiral deliveries. Windshield is a web portal-based, content management system designed to promote situational awareness.
Participate in software development activities that may include:
• Analyze, design and develop software-based solutions meeting business needs
• Investigate new technologies
• Test and debug new programs
Level 3.
10 years of credible general experience in Computer Science, or a related discipline; to include at least 5 years of credible experience in software-intensive projects.
3 years of experience must be as a Software Engineer supporting software architecture development, requirement analysis, process execution and evaluation, selection and evaluation of COTS/GOTS tools, and integration (with both new and existing systems). A BS degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or a related discipline may be substituted for 4 years of credible general experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry and typically 5 to 8 years experience in an engineering classification or either a Master's degree with 3 to 6 years experience or a PhD degree with 0 to 3 years experience in an engineering classification.
The candidate shall have an understanding of how UIS code works, how analysts use UIS. Knowledge of XML parsers, SQL and Perl is required. Development skills in JAVA (threading/thread pooling, RMI, character set encoding, SWING, JDBC, JMS, J2EE, Enterprise Java Beans, Web Logic, Serves and JSP) are required.
ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

• Heavy experience with Web languages/tools and scripting (HTML, Ruby, Groovy, J/Python, PHP, Javascript)
