Labtronics is currently recruiting for a Project Manager within our Research and Development team. Reporting to the VP of Research and Development, the Project Manager will be responsible for managing the delivery of software development projects for Labtronics.
The successful candidate will develop the project strategy, which includes planning and scheduling to ensure that all the necessary components and deliverables will be met.
Specific responsibilites will include, but are not limited to:
• Planning, organizing, leading and monitoring the activities of the project team while maintaining overall control of the schedule and the delivery of all expected deliverables.
• Communicating the project progress to management, providing reports detailing the various statues of the project and its overall success rating. Suggestions on how to resolve any issues within the project will also be a key responsibility.
• Understanding, enforcing and refining project management methodologies followed within Labtronics. Actively seeking out means to improve the Labtronics software delivery process at both the policy and individual project level.
• Ensuring effective tracking of outstanding deliverables, milestones and change requests. Identifying resources needed and assigning individual responsibilites to the project team.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline.
• A proven track record and a minimum of 5 years experience managing complex projects through the full life cycle, i.e. project planning, executing, controlling, and closing.
• Solid understanding of the software development life cycle with a general understanding of applications programming, database, and system design.
• Understanding of both web and client/server architectures.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
• Detail oriented, self-motivated and highly organized with solid problem solving skills.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including the ability to motivate team members.
Additional Assets
• Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or working towards it.
• Experience working with Oracle and SQL Server
• Experience working with IIS and other Web technologies.
