Delivery Manager -- Bay Area, Dallas or Chicago
Delivery Manager supports global accounts team initiatives for their designated customers/regions/vertical. The Delivery Manager provides delivery support in a presales through post-sales capacity while thinking strategically. The successful candidate will possess excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills and be able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment as well as have the ability to make decisions based on a clear understanding of the effect on company financials, plus interface effectively with employees and customers of all levels. In addition, they must possess a track record of success in business development and personnel management.
The Delivery manager is responsible for the delivery of project related activities from client management to final invoicing. They are able to lead small to very complex projects, focused on open source technologies.
• Technical responsibilities include:
o Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques an evaluation criterion for obtaining results.
o Provides supervision and analysis of system architecture and integration.
• Project management responsibilities include working with internal resource management to staff projects, client management regarding account status, opportunities and technical solutions and cost/schedule monitoring.
• Employee development responsibilities include assessing the technical skills and ndeeds of each engineer or consultant serving on the engagement.
• Financial responsibilities include project cost estimating, proposal generation, invoicing and attainment of profit targets.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree; MBA and/or computer science degree preferred
• 5-10 years of industry experience in consulting, pre-sales services management; services sales and/or project management is required.
• Working knowledge of system architecture and programming languages.
• Project management experience required
• Experience developing with or providing support for Linux preferred
• RHCE certification preferred
• Unix technical knowledge desired
• Linux migration experience desired
• Previous software and service sales experience.
