Middleware Instructor
Seeking an Instructor for Middleware training. The person accepting this position will be a member of a team of Instructors responsible for using company materials to train customers on the proper use of company products.
Candidates for this position may be based anywhere in the U.S.
The Instructor's duties will include:
• Conduct both Public and On-Site trainings for customers and employees.
• Contribute to upgrade, enhancement and maintenance of technical training offerings both through feedback and development.
• Participate in other infrastructure development such as: testing of labs; development of courseware maintenance tools; maintenance of web content; hardware maintenance.
• Work day-to-day with little instruction or supervision; ability to take new assignments with general instructors.
The Instructor will teach middleware courses 75% of the time thus remaining connected to customers and courseware.
Depending on location the Instructor may travel up to 80% of the time (travel may be reduced if the Instructor lives in a city in which training is more commonly given)
Technical requirements for this job include:
• In-depth knowledge of java and middleware platforms. Experience with several JEE/Application Server Technologies such as JMS, Web Services, Servlets, JSP, JDBC, Hibernate, Tomcat, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Data Services and/or Datasources
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in standard English. Excellent editorial skills.
• Ability to instruct customers: lecture on technical subject matter, maintaining the attention and interest of participants; ability to answer technical questions on the fly and follow up when the answer is unknown; the ability to work patiently with participants during labs; ability to evaluate needs of customers and work in an environment with competing needs.
• Knowledge of OpenOffice.org and DocBook are helpful, but not required.
• 3+ years of continuous experience in one of the following:
o Courseware delivery for development and administrative organizations.
o On-Site consultation using middleware and Java EE technologies
• Desire to work in an environment undergoing rapid change for this company
