MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assess, design, configure and maintain Public Internet/Extranet and remote site firewall services infrastructure for Siemens' customer network.
• Creation and version control of related documentation and diagrams.
• Creation of operational reports related to PI Extranet infrastructure performance, availability, capacity, and faults.
• Perform change implementation activity of customer initiated firewall change requests.
• Attend customer meetings as Siemens interface for firewall change planning activity.
• Provide communication on status of pending change activity.
• Perform 24x7 (on-call) Level 2 & 3 support functions for the implemented firewall infrastructure supported by Siemens.
EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES REQUIRED
• Associate degree in related technical or IT discipline OR
• Equivalent of three years experience in firewall / network security support role
• Technical certification in Checkpoint, Cisco or Juniper router / network security related technology
• Working knowledge of Checkpoint, Cisco (or Juniper) firewall design and configuration
• Excellent communications and facilitation skills
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of tangible and intangible variables in situations where only limited standardization exist
• Ability to organize several work details and projects at the same time
• Proven ability to work within a team of technical and business professionals in a multi-vendor environment
• Proven ability to produce and maintain technical diagrams, reports and related documentation
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals
