Local Wisdom is a small website design and development agency located in Somerset, NJ. Serving various markets for the last 9 years, Local Wisdom values long term relationships and the strength found in collaborative efforts.
Once on board, you will be working in a small but dynamic studio environment filled with talent, style, educated minds, common sense, street smarts, wicked sense of humor and addictive love of snacks. Diversity is our middle name. We work hard and play hard -- heads previously together in design brainstorm and client meetings can be found later running mental strategy in a Rummy card game.
Our Web Developers will develop for multiple Internet initiatives, Web-based applications and new products using technologies and languages that include ASP, JSP, JavaScript, SQL and HTML.
Responsibilities:
• Working with project team members and clients, to coordinate Web site development.
• Being involved in all technical phases of the project life cycle; being responsible for the design, development and delivery of successful solutions that meet or exceed client objectives
Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Demonstrated time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to various technologies and simultaneously work on multiple assignments.
• The ideal candidate will have the ability to comprehend, document and implement detailed project specifications.
• In depth knowledge of Web and client/server technologies and development techniques.
• Familiarity with all development phases such as requirements definition, prototyping and code complete definitions.
• Understanding of all types of testing such as unit, component, integration and system testing Understanding of IT deployment/implementation steps.
• Understanding of documentation required to deliver a software product.
• Demonstrated ability to write detailed design and test documents.
• Strong and effective team communication and problem-solving skills and able to work under very little or no supervision.
Work Experience:
• 3+ years experience in Web application software development with database interface.
• 2+ years commercial experience in application development using CSS, HTML, ASP, JSP, JavaScript, Ajax, ASP.NET, and Java.
• 2+ years commercial experience with MS SQL Server 2000 with ability to write stored procedures using Transact SQL.
Education:
Minimum BS in computer science, EE or equivalent is required. However, Local Wisdom will also consider applicants who do not possess formal training, but who possess the skills and experience mentioned above.
