Consultant will augment the Enterprise application services staff enable the strategically important functional requirements and functional models in a SOA environment with the design and development of Enterprise Services using Java and AquaLogic. Additional technologies include COBOL, MQ Series, Message Broker, WebLogic, WebSphere, Amberpoint and Systinet. The consultant will assist with design, development, testing, defect resolution and taking detailed direction from the CIGNA Enterprise application services leads.
SKILLS
Involved in the analysis, design, development and implementation of software applications.
Determines user requirements, leads application design, plans projects, establishes priorities and monitors progress. Evaluates project status and resource utilization and implements changes to improve the team's effectiveness.
May coordinate with other managers to integrate project with other applications.
Position may be a first-level manager and has direct responsibility for people management.

Must understand the service layer
Must understand Service Oriented Architecture
Must understand and be able to explain how the application area is a client of web services.
Must understand and be able to explain how the service area differs from the application areas.
Must understand and be able to explain how web services is an enterprise group
Strong DB2, Web Services experience in the Web Services environment
Mainframe Platform, Mid-Range Platform, Windows Desktop Platform, Windows Server Platform, UNIX Client/Server Platform, Internet/Intranet (Web) Platform, E-commerce/EDI, Multi-Platform. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, at least eight, typically ten or more years of solid, diverse work experience in IT with a minimum of six years experience application program development, or the equivalent in education and work experience.
