A prestigious downtown law firm voted one of the "Best Places to Work" in both Houston and Texas is seeking an experienced Operating Systems and WAN Analyst. This is a long-term contract expected to last approximately 1 year. The responsibilities for this position include, but aren't limited to:
Analyzing, implementing and server and workstation based systems on a local or wide area network as well as the devices and infrastructure of a LAN/WAN.
Developing and maintaining standards and practices regarding server and workstations systems.
Installing, maintaining, upgrading and developing measurement characteristics of the LAN/WAN.
Diagnosing and repairing PC/LAN/WAN/TELCOM equipment including concentrators, bridges, repeaters and related communications equipment.
Assisting in developing a disaster recovery plan for telecommunications as well as sever and workstation systems.
Providing international and domestic regional office support for projects relating to voice and data networking.
Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field of study) or equivalent experience. Microsoft and/or Novell professional certifications are preferred but not required. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years related experience in workstations and server based operating systems, network communications, voice and data telecommunications. Ideal candidates would have IT Generalist experience with a background in MS-Office, Powershell scripting experience, strong activity directory, servers and strong LAN/WAN experience.
